I have been drawing a shit-ton more in the past few months.
Why haven't I put anything up?
Because I don't have a scanner that likes me and I really don't feel comfortable photographing my drawings (partially due to the fact that I am lazy and photographing would entail that extra step of uploading the image to my computer. I'd rather get it all done in one fowl swoop [don't care if that's not the proper fowl for this instance, I like it better].)
Anyways, I already said that my mom and I are going to get the family a proper scanner for Christmas. So look forward to that.
Also, I've been wanting to go back to watercolor and inks, however I'm terrified of screwing up my original drawings, so my only option is to trace them. Yay. Well, I have a stack of watercolor paper and I'm going down to Micheal's tomorrow to get some tracing paper, soooooo.
In an ideal world I would get a light box, but unfortunately I don't have the money nor the space for one. Though I did find a pretty awesome tutorial for making a light table out of a regular table. SO once I get my own place (who knows when that will be) I am so hunting for a kick ass table to make into a light table.
I have fond memories of light tables.
My brother and I used to draw on the one in my mom's classroom when she was teaching at the High School. She bought this poster size coloring sheet for us once. We taped it to the top of the light table and worked on it pretty much every day after school. Why we needed it on the light table, I'm not sure. I think we just liked coloring with the light underneath it. It was the great hall of a castle, there were suits of armor and treasure chests all over it with unicorns and tapestries, plus there was an open door that led to a garden. It was amazing. I wonder if we still have it somewhere. hmmm.
Also, when I was really little my grandparents had this toy light box that I played with a lot. It had a stack of pictures, basically Disney characters and random objects, that you could put together and make a scene then trace and color it. The ones I remember the most were the ones from The Sword in the Stone.
Believe it or not, for being raised by an Arthurian nut we really didn't watch that one that much. At least not as much as Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast. OH and The Little Mermaid. THE LITTLE MERMAID!! *Has a nostalgic fit*
Anyways, I don't think my life will be complete until I have a light table of my own. Just thought you should know that.
ANYWAYS, back to the original intention of this here post.
When I get a scanner in a month or two expect a flood, until then sorry I haven't uploaded anything in over a year. I'm sure no one even cares that much anymore.
Whatevs.
